Flavipanurgus flavus is the type species of that genus (one of the two endemic in Iberian Peninsula). Flavipanurgus flavus and F.venustus are easily recognizable to their bigger size (in regard of the other species included in the genus). Flavipanurgus is nearly entirely black by females, while males present a yellowish ventral half of face and small yellow spots on terga. F.venustus presents quite larges yellow marking both in males and females, on face, thorax and terga.
